How is the artefact experienced? A comb as seen on display in a museum is no longer a comb but something to learn from and to understand a culture; a culture of which the viewer has no experience of. The possession of these artefacts, in the form of souvenir postcards, creates a window to be moved from one location to another; constantly in flux the object can only be experienced based on its location.
In this series the postcards have been used to displace an object from one archive and moved it to another. The photographs document the event when objects are brought together in a setting designed to aid knowledge. The relationship between the objects however has been chosen by the artist, and not a curator. Choices reminiscent of Wunderkammer, or cabinets of curiosity.
