Currently concerned with the creation and reproduction of space, Barkus creates a broad artistic practice that reflects upon specific research themes. Using his practice to question how space can be cultivated, both physically and as a part of a lived experience, Barkus builds environments that allow these themes to be questioned by a viewer. Initiated with research into local histories and stories, as well as an awareness of Space, Architecture, Landscape, and Boundaries, influence how and why the work is produced.
